How to apply Computer number for DGCA (Director General of Civil Aviation)?
In order for you, to get an Indian Pilot license you have to apply first for computer number. If you don't follow the exact procedure as required by DGCA it would be rejected and you might end up missing the exam schedule as planned by you. Below I am going to show exact steps, procedures and documents required for applying computer number.
First thing that you need to do is to go to http://udaan.nic.in , click on Online Application For Computer Number. A separate window will open up to fill the application.
Fill in the details as stated in your Passport or any Government issued ID. Once you have filled the application double check and submit it. You will receive an Email stating Successful Submission of Online Application for Computer Number.
Now you need to post the following documents to DGCA CEO.(note: Your documents should reach DGCA within 10 days of the application filled )
1. Printed and duly signed Application Form with latest colored Passport sized Photograph pasted on it and duly attested / certified on the second page.
2. 10th Standard Mark list - as a proof of Name of the candidate and proof of Date of Birth. In case the mark list does not indicate the Date of Birth, then the attested copy of Birth Certificate issued by the authority concerned is to be attached.
3. 10+2 Standard Mark List & Pass certificate as a proof of having passed 10+2 with Maths & Physics subjects.
In the case of applicant not having 10+2 with Maths & Physics and like to use the provision of Rule 47A of Aircraft Rules 1937, as an evidence for having flown before1st Jan 1994, the attested copies of first page of his Log Book and the page with Date of First Flight recorded must be attached.
In the case Basic Qualification has been obtained from Foreign Country, enclose attested copy of the equivalent certificate issued by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) House, 16, Kotla Marg, New Delhi - 110022.
4. Proof Of Permanent Address (If you are submitting attested passport copy make sure you include your address/last page of passport)
Foreign Nationals should submit attested copy of Passport & Security Clearance Certificate from a competent authority of Govt. of India.
5. Verification letter from 10th and 12th board. (Some board sends the letter directly to DGCA )
All the above documents must be attested by the Gazetted Officers only.
The Signed print out of the filled application form, along with required documents (as per
instruction given in Part – B) should reach the Director of Airworthiness, Central
Examination Organisation, O/o Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India, East
Block – III, R K Puram, New Delhi – 110 066 by speed / registered post within 10 days of
online submission of application.
In the case of non receipt of physical application with supporting documents, your application will be deleted from the online system after 30 days automatically by the system. No further communication in this regard will be entertained. You are advised to apply again afresh and follow the guidelines as referred above.
You can track the status of your application using the temporary ID generated on successful submission of application.
Foreign Nationals should submit attested copy of Passport along with the application for Computer Number. On satisfying with the application status, DGCA will initiate the process for obtaining Security Clearance from the agencies concerned.
